Arts Umbrella presents the Splash Preview Exhibition, a wide-ranging exhibition including painting, photography, sculpture, and print media. Held annually at Pendulum Gallery since 2003, the exhibition is a preview of the works featured in the Splash Art Auction, taking place on October 3, 2026 at Fairmont Hotel Vancouver and broadcast online. The 2026 Splash Art Collection features 91 artworks generously donated by acclaimed and emerging Canadian and international artists. This year’s collection features works by some of today’s most compelling voices in art, including: Edward Burtynsky, Dana Claxton, Stan Douglas, Marie Khouri, Sara Anne Johnson, and Moses Salihou. Two exhibition highlights this year are, Bar and Black Jaguar, Tsimshatsui, by Greg Girard, and Homeland Vigil, by Tiko Kerr. The Preview Exhibition offers the public the rare opportunity to view and bid on this diverse collection.
Presented by Nicola Wealth, co-chaired by Christie Garofalo and Bruce Munro Wright, O.B.C., Splash is Arts Umbrella’s flagship fundraising event. Proceeds from Splash 2026 will fund Arts Umbrella’s programming for young people ages 2 to 22, including free outreach classes, scholarships, and bursaries. The event takes place on October 3, 2026, at Fairmont Hotel Vancouver, with live broadcast, enabling art enthusiasts across Canada and beyond to participate
Wiebe’s project reflects on wakefulness and dreaming, the boundaries between the seen and unseen, the remembered and the forgotten, and points to the connection between an individual and a collective unconscious. I began keeping a dream journal in my mid-twenties, when I first understood dreams as muse, messenger, and unseen choreographer. This is the first time I have returned to the full collection of writings as the basis for an exhibition. Using commonplace objects and materials, I give form to the sensations and narratives of dreaming. Through this tactile process, I explore dreams’ unresolved and shadow qualities; discomfort, uncertainty, wonder, strange creatures, and the inexplicable.
