Visually Abstract

Visually Abstract
The approach to abstraction in visual art has covered a lot of ground, from the nihilistic to the lyrically expressive. The age an artist inhabits can provide a language for their art making.  Anda Kubis and Eric Louie provide two examples for our digital age; Kubis with her utilization of paint programs and computer technology to create painterly effects on paper; and Louie, whose use of planes, lines, textures and layering, reflect the influence of ubiquitous rendering and graphic programs that influence our image making, and which Louie absorbs, filters and remixes in his own personal style.
